Cinema and TV

Baby Reindeer

I caught so much cringe from Tony – that means something.

A weak-willed, attention-seeking, lost-in-lies protagonist drowns in his attempts to present a facade. He’s willing to bend backwards to not face his shame – which drowns him only deeper. Interesting watch after the Pop Culture Detective’s video-essay on patriarchy.

Deadpool and Wolverine

Fun and entertaining. Lots of caneos and fun tie-ins – the stuff that didn't made me feel much since Endgame.

It Ends With Us

Fascinating that in Ukraine it was translated to something like “Let go if you love”. And the teailer left an impression of classic loce triangle ratger than abuse drama – although, to be fair, the bits are there, just masked with presence of the other guy.

Agatha All Along

“Agatha All Along” S1E7 had an interesting premise for the clairvoyant character: her consciousness jumps back and forth throughout her lifetime. Kind of like in “Time Traveler’s Wife” – but not full body, just the mind getting into the same body. The “fortuneteller” doesn’t see the future, they lived through it.

She was piecing out what she saw in her frantic travel, providing people the “foretelling” of what she encountered. However, that works only for people close to her, who would naturally appear in her life.
